Kayak-Camping Trips

Two and Three day kayak trips on Flagstaff and Umbagog Lake with two professional Maine guides. This trip includes kayak with gear, camping, and meals. Your kayak guide will be Ernie Fountaine, an experienced guide and kayak instructor. Off the water your campsite guide will be Albert Lane, Maine fishing guide, woodsman, and owner of Androscoggin Guide Service. Upon arrival at the lake you will set off on kayaks with Erinie to spend the day on the water. Albert will take supplies and other equipment and set up camp at a remote campsite. Later in the day everyone will meet at camp for food and a cold refreshment before supper. This is a unique service; to kayak with one guide and arrive at a site where your tent, a fire, and food are ready for you by another guide. Our trips are made for you and your comfort while enjoying the beauty of Maine and it’s waters. Meals are also made to your preference.

Fall caretaker at Garfield Ridge Campsite (AT) 1982
Summer caretaker at 13 Falls Tent-site 1983. At 13 Falls my task was to relocate the existing campsite and rehabilitate the former site. As part of the backcountry education I would inform users about the composting system, the reason for the relocation and backcountry ethics.

Search & Rescue: Participant and leader of SAR teams in 1980's and early 1990's, former EMT, SOLO, and WMA Wilderness First Aid training
